I’M NATALIE.
I’m a 100% Film photographer. That’s right, Film. My first camera was an old, clunky Vivitar SLR I bought for a High School class when I was 15. Since then I have always had a camera attached to me at nearly all times. I love the medium of Film to cultivate a more participatory relationship with the tactile process of making meaningful images which build community, relationships & conscious dialogue. Capturing the most important interactions of life is no small task, the output not to be taken lightly as a disposable endeavor. I feel passionately about the tangibility of making photographic art which is lasting in an incomparable, beautiful & enduring way. I’ve always done things my own way, against the grain, including shooting analog in a sea of the digitized world. Nothing can touch the etherial beauty of real Film.
As a mother & an artist, I believe there is nothing more irreplaceable than having the beauty of childhood recorded. Real life is art! While everyone loves a smiling kid, that’s not always what I’m aiming for. I’m more interested in drawing out true personality within the intimacy of families. It is with great respect that I am there to tell the story. Your story. Sessions are more than simply taking photos. My goal is to not only give you an enjoyable family photography session, but to create a collection of amazing images that you & your family will treasure for a lifetime.
